Many museums are open for Christmas and New Year holiday; exhibitions and initiatives will show their collection to adults and kids: from Leonardo da Vinci and Pontormo to the falconer art during the Renaissance, from the historical collections of the museums of the area to the new works in ceramics with an innovative design by Matteo Cibic.
Among the initiatives, three are dedicated to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci; the artist was born in 1452 in Vinci, a small town of the Empolese Valdelsa region and in 2019, Vinci celebrated the 500 th anniversary of his death.
Celebrations start with guided tours, workshops at the Museo Leonardiano in Vinci and an exhibition named “Leonardo da Vinci. Another exhibition dedicated to the artist is “Leonardo e Pontormo”, hosted in la Casa del Pontormo in EMPOLI till December 31 st 2019: a video-installation retracing relations between Pontormo and Leonardo da Vinci.

During museum opening hours will be set a special area where to buy the Passaporto del Pellegrino
dell’Arte, the ticket is valid 365 days and allows you to visit 21 museums among the museum
system of Empolese Valdelsa. The price of the ticket is €15.
