Despite the fact that it is a clear example of Renaissance architecture, with an Italian garden, the Villa and Farm of Meleto are known above all thanks to Cosimo Ridolfi. In fact it was here in 1843 that the famous Florentine agronomist founded the first Agricultural Institute in Italy, where students could learn new farming techniques “in the field” on a modern experimental farm. Today the villa is the site of an important agricultural business and is often used as a location for exclusive events and weddings.
