The awakening of spring means also a rich calendar of local celebrations and events: Vinci for example celebrates Leonardo’s Day, on April 19th, in memory of the birth of the genius of the Renaissance, and the Leonardian Celebrations. Many other events take place in the municipalities of the area, such as: the Chianti Exhibition in Montespertoli, the many Palio (horse racing) and historical re-enactments. Not to be missed are also the events dedicated to the handicraft tradition, such as the Artistic Ceramics Festival in Montelupo Fiorentino.
