This characteristic hill town, which in the Middle Ages was surrounded by walls to protect the church, the well and the palace of the City Council, is located along the road that from Montaione leads to San Vivaldo. Abandoned by the few inhabitants who remained, it was bought after the Second World War by a Swiss company who took care of its renovation and transformed it into luxury tourist accommodation where it is possible to stay in authentic farmhouses in the middle of the Tuscan countryside.
